There was a time when the more makeup I had slapped on my face – the better. There has never been a time whereby minimal makeup was how I prefered to roll. That was until, now. My everyday makeup is now super simple and can be done in under 5 minutes…honestly. The products I’m going to be talking about today are what I’d use for a lazy weekend, or for work and what’s best of all, is that they’re all cruelty-free.
I’ve found that by using multi-tasking products, I can save loads of time…and effort. Obvs. This means saying goodbye to the complex winged liner that takes me 10,000 years to get even, and a ta-ta for now to a cream foundation that needs work buffing in. – I’ll save those for special occasions.
Bare Minerals | Original Foundation | £27.00 | Cruelty-Free
Like many people, I love the lightness of a mineral powder foundation. The Bare Minerals Original Foundation is my favourite and is arguably the best. Providing natural looking coverage and SPF 15, it’s no surprise that this loose powder foundation has won numerous beauty awards. The shade range is pretty decent too with 30 shades available. I wear ‘Fair light 03’. I won’t dwell too much on the details here as I have a full, in-depth review of this mineral foundation here if you’re interested in discovering more.
And Other Stories | Concealer | £15.00 | Cruelty-Free
This Stories concealer is SUCH a decent product, though I can understand that it would likely get overlooked in favour of more affordable and available drugstore favourites such as Collection’s Cult, ‘Lasting Perfection Concealer‘. The creamy formulation of the Stories concealer offers a medium, buildable coverage that cancels out dark circles in just one swoop of the doe-foot. I use it to combat any redness around my nose or pesky blemishes and it does the trick, all with minimal effort required.
Glossier | Cream Blush Cloud Paint in ‘Beam’ | £15.00 | Cruelty-Free
I’ll be honest, I couldn’t get this product to work for me for the longest time. I found that too much product came out of the tube, even with just the lightest of squeezes, and the peachy colour looked a little ‘Aunt Sally’ on my skin. I’ve since worked out how to best use the Glossier Cloud Paints, and it involves putting a bit of the product onto the back of my hand and using my fingers to pat it into my cheeks. Cor, I love this bronzer. I have the shade ’01’ which works perfectly for my paler skin tone, without looking orange or muddy. The Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder offers a matte finish which in turn allows the skin to look sunkissed and healthy without ever looking shimmery and shiny.
